Description
The DTF printer encoder strip indicates the exact position of the printhead during its movements. By reading the strip, the optical sensor determines the printhead position at all times, its speed and whether the movement is correct.
This reading makes it possible to synchronise ink projection with printhead movement, prevent pass misalignment and ensure clean, properly aligned printing.

When should the encoder strip be replaced?
An encoder strip should be replaced as soon as one of the following signs appears:
- Presence of scratches, creases or faded areas on the strip;

- Printhead positioning errors;
- Ink build-up, dust or residues that are difficult to clean;
- Strip damaged after impact or incorrect handling;
- Persistent issues despite cleaning the sensor and the strip.
