Why choose Supreme Light pretreatment?
Supreme Light offers three practical advantages for DTG production on light cotton.
Colour rendering and wash durability of DTG prints
The pretreatment layer limits ink penetration into the cotton fibres. The ink sits more evenly on the surface, for vibrant colours and sharp detail. It also contributes to ink adhesion, and therefore to wash durability.
Results depend on the fabric, application weight, application method, drying and print settings.
DTG pretreatment: a homogeneous and stable formula
Mixed in the laboratory under controlled temperature and pressure, the formula stays homogeneous and stable over time. Results remain consistent from one container to the next. Its composition aims to limit the formation of deposits during storage.
To maintain your pretreatment machine, pair it with our pretreatment nozzle cleaner.
Concentrated pretreatment: less volume to ship and store
One component, one dilution: you prepare the solution on site, in a single step. The concentrated format cuts the volume to ship and store by five. Each litre of ready-to-use solution means just 0.25 kg in transport. The demineralised water you need is easy to find.
How to dilute and apply Supreme Light pretreatment
Three steps determine the quality of your DTG pretreatment on light cotton: dilution, application and drying. Follow these guidelines for consistent results from one print run to the next.
Dilution: shake the container before opening, then dilute the concentrate at the stated ratio. Stir the mixture thoroughly to obtain a uniform solution. Keep to this ratio for a consistent mix and fewer defects after drying. Never use tap water: it can alter the formula and cause deposits.
Application: apply the solution with an automatic pretreatment machine, such as the Schulze Pretreatmaker 5. Validate the application weight during your first tests, then keep it for each run of the same fabric.
Drying: ideally, dry in a hot air DTG conveyor dryer. On a heat press, press in two stages to let the moisture escape.
Supreme Light FAQs
Here are the answers to the questions DTG print shops ask most often.
Do white T-shirts need pretreatment for DTG printing?
It is not essential, but pretreatment clearly improves results on white cotton. Colours look brighter and the print stands up better to washing.
Can Supreme Light be used with a white ink underbase?
No, it is formulated for printing without a white underbase. With a white underbase, see our Dark Cotton pretreatments for your printer.
Should I dilute the whole container of pretreatment at once?
We recommend preparing all 25 litres in one go. This gives you an identical solution for every print run.
