How does DTF or Direct-To-Film work?
DTF ink or Direct to Film ink allows textile workshops to print designs, labels, logos on a DTF transfer film coated with a special coating.
Then, the roll of PET transfer film is coated with hot melt adhesive powder. There are two possible solutions for applying DTF powder. Either by manual application or by an automatic shaker.
Finally, the operator attaches the transfer film directly to the garment to be personalised using a heat press.
First, the design comes out with a sharp outline, with excellent resolution. All this, without cutting or weeding.

For transfer onto a black or dark background, use a DTF printer with white ink (B+CMYK). RIP software for DTF optimises and facilitates the work of your printer. It sends the information to the printer for DTF transfer. It reproduces the colours and then the white layer. For garments with a white background, only CMYK inks are needed. The backing can be any textile, like cotton, silk, polyester and more, as DTF printing works on all color backgrounds and most textiles.
